Why Our Wool Is Different

We source fine wool in limited quantities, constantly searching for the next exceptional fabric. Because of our manufacturing scale and commitment to quality, stocking the exact same wool year after year often isn't possible.

Much like fine wines, every batch of wool has its own unique character. Variations in color, texture, and feel are part of what makes each garment special.

Our standards are high, which means we pass on a significant amount of wool and fabric that larger suppliers may gladly purchase. While many products may appear similar at first glance, we believe exceptional garments begin with exceptional materials.

That's why we do what we do. We are committed to building the best garments possible and will never cut corners or lower our standards.

The ultimate wool parka; The Gunflint Wool Parka.

If you’re like us, you get a kick out of being in the middle of nowhere watching a sunrise at 25 below zero. It is mornings like these for which we designed our warmest piece.

The Gunflint Wool Parka contains a 25oz inner lining of woven wool shearling that's over half an inch thick. This is the material that modern "sherpa" polyesters fail to imitate.

The Gunflint Wool Parka exterior can be built with any of our camouflages, patterns, or solid wool colors. Roll the Gunflint Wool Parka up like a cigar and strap it to your backpack for use when glassing, ice fishing, or hop on your snow machine on the coldest days of the year.

The Gunflint Wool Parka will give you comfort in places others would not dream of going.

Available in all of our high grade wools. Please note that different colors/patterns have different weights.

Wool Descriptions

Midweight Wools (16–18 oz)

Olive 16 oz: Standard mil-spec shirting weight. Plenty of warmth & loose/flexible.

Ivory 18 oz: A luxurious fabric that's both warm & forgiving.

Heather Gray 18 oz: A medium tone gray that's great for all of our products.

Heavy Weight Wools (22–23 oz)

Charcoal 22 oz: A classy, mid/heavyweight black that withstands the dust & debris of daily life without appearing linty or dirty. The varying yarn colors of the charcoal hide pet hair & other debris that other solid colors don't.

Crimson 22 oz: A fine weave for all our products, warm, tight weave, & woven to last.

Hunter Orange 23 oz: Be seen & stay warm with this heavyweight weave of high-visibility orange. A classic choice for deer season.

Camo Heavy Weight Wools (24 oz)

All of our Camouflage Wool: American 24 oz wool, soft, downy lofty with moderate bulk.

Extra Heavy Weight Wools (25–30 oz)

Mackinaw Plaid 25 oz: This classic pattern has strong American roots, intertwined with forestry disciplines of the late 19th century. It’s a super heavyweight weave & the red is a slightly darker, more muted shade than a bright, fire engine red.

Espresso 30 oz: An excellent choice for all our designs. Think dark chocolate, coffee brown.

Navy 30 oz: Mil-spec for navy officers' Peacoats. Stiff & warm, tight weave great for cutting the wind.
